The Creative Assemble got back to their roots, revisiting 16th century Japan – which was also the setting of the very first Total War title. While most Total War releases focus on expanding scopes and basically making everything larger and more epic, Shogun 2 took the opposite approach. If you still have problems after that, there are a couple of approaches we can take to getting mods working and there might even be a bug in the game that needs reporting.Total War: Shogun 2 is still widely considered by many to be one of the best Total War games out there. If your mods were successfully downloaded, they will be (as mentioned) in your Rome 2 installation's "data" folder along with your game files. You'll need to go online to download your subscribed mods. So there's your "bug" I guess (although seems likely it's by design). Steam Workshop at this point isn't allowing download/update of subscribed mods in offline mode. Mods will work fine if they are already installed. Almost a decade later, playing Total War Rome II, I can feel that same shiver run down my spine as I send 5000 battlehardened Romans over the wooden walls of Bibracte, either to die or to end the. When you start the TW launcher it can also download/update your mods and it does so using the Steam Workshop. When you subscribe to a Rome II mod in the Steam Workshop, Steam pulls the workshop content, and drops it in Total War Rome II\data. So as long as your initial set-up is done, it should be fine. It loads some mods as listed in, and the rest in alphabetical order - it does this regardless of offline mode. The game itself doesn't check whether you're in offline mode before it loads a mod. Total war Devs, you may have just lost a fan. This is the game that put a damper on it. I've been geeking out on total war games since 2001. i'm going to go check out what you glued up there. Quiz will be once per month, rewards always different, will have 3-4 questions (it can be related to Warhammer lore or any total war game or history period). but I'm not even going to go there because that's not what this post is about. Why couldn't they put it in the options to turn it on or off? WHHHHHHHHY! There's plenty of other reasons why I rate this game 5/10.
In my eyes, that's one of the thing's that made the game so epic. I won't be buying any total war games after rome 2 because of this. Considering Rome had 15 legions there must be a way though I have not found it yet.

Why couldn't they just put a limit on the AI instead (because the sea of flags would bog down ones computer) of AI and human? Totally ruined the game for me. Hey guys just wondering does anyone know how to increase your army limit, I have been stuck on a limit of 6 for a while and have captured several minor settlemets and one or two province capitals but it doesnt seem to be increasing. I did search that in steam and none of the mods sounded good. Originally posted by Berserk Smurf:If you search the words "army limit" in the workshop, the first result on the first page is unambiguously titled "No army limit", and there are numerous other mods given that offer that, or other options.īe warned that increasing army limits drastically is a good way to trigger end turn crashes at some point during your campaign.
